Lodging and Logistics

Hotel

Lodging has been reserved for meeting attendees at the Imperial Resort Beach Hotel at the daily rate of $120 USD (+ 18% VAT and LHT of $2) for a single deluxe room. The special room rate is available until 15 November 2015 or as long rooms are available. When booking your reservation, you will be charged in advance for the first night.

To make a reservation, email the manager, Ronald Ssenyondwa, with your dates and times  of arrival and departure at ronald@hoteleq.com, cc’ing opm@irbh.com. Please reference the Global Energy and Water Exchanges Project of The World Climate Research Programme to receive the appropriate rate, and state that you will be paying your bill directly to the hotel. This will save time at check-in. You can pay with Visa, Master Card, and American Express, but note that there is a 5% surcharge for payment with credit cards. Note that paying through the hotel website’s online reservation system may result in a higher rate.

The hotel is a few miles from the Entebbe International Airport. The hotel offers airport transfer at a charge of $10 USD per person/trip. Arrangements must be made in advance, so we recommend mentioning in your reservation email that you will need transportation to and from the airport.

If you have any questions about the accommodations, please contact Ronald at ronald@hoteleq.com and cc fom@irbh.com.

Visas

Uganda requires that you have a visa and a passport valid for six months beyond the date of entry. Visas are available at the Entebbe Airport upon arrival for $100 US. You will also need proof of a yellow fever vaccination.
Visas can also be obtained from the Embassy of the Republic of Uganda. It is recommended that travelers obtain visas to Uganda in advance of travel, particularly those who will arrive via land. If you plan to obtain your visa upon landing at Entebbe Airport, you should confirm in advance that your airline will allow you to board without a visa. For more information, please check your local consulate or embassy for the Republic of Uganda. You may also check Uganda’s Directorate of Citizen and Immigration Control website for guidance.

Travel Support

Travel support applications have already been submitted to WCRP and unfortunately, we are no longer accepting requests for support. Participants are asked to secure their own travel support wherever possible.
