The deadline for applying for financial support has passed.

You are not eligible for financial support.

Financial support is only available for Early Career Researchers (ECRs) and scientists from developing countries who have submitted an abstract of which they are the primary author and who will give a presentation.

If you want to apply for financial support, click on ‘Previous’ until you come to the section ‘Abstract Submission’ in order to upload the abstract of which you are the primary author or, if you want to enter the ECR competition and meet the requirements, go back to the section ‘Early Career Researcher information’.

Financial Assistance for Students, Early Career Researchers and Scientists from Developing Countries

Limited financial assistance in the form of travel support and/or fee waivers are available to enable and support the attendance of students, early career researchers (ECRs) and scientists from certain developing countries to the 1^st Pan-GLASS Meeting.

Financial assistance for the 1^st Pan-GLASS Conference will be evaluated based on two primary criteria: financial need and scientific merit of the proposed presentation. Applicants must submit a comprehensive abstract and supporting documentation. Full conference attendance is mandatory for financial support eligibility. Participants should be aware that travel support typically does NOT cover entire conference expenses, and candidates are encouraged to seek additional funding sources. Most support is provided through post-conference expense reimbursement, meaning participants will initially cover their own travel costs and receive a predetermined compensation after the conference concludes.

Priority will be given to:

Students: those pursuing their graduate studies (M.Sc. or Ph.D) ;

Early career researchers: post-graduates and researchers who received their highest degree in 2015 or later ;

Scientists from certain developing countries.

 
How to Apply for Financial Support

In order to qualify for financial support, applicants must SUBMIT ALL OF THE FOLLOWING: 

An abstract of a scientific paper to the 1^st Pan-GLASS Meeting, of which the applicant is the principal author

A short Curriculum Vitae (1 page maximum) that includes the applicant’s contact information, address, status (e.g., student, early career researcher, or scientist from an emerging or developing country)

A brief statement (300 words maximum) indicating the scientific motivation and expected benefits of the applicant’s participation at the meeting. In addition, the applicant must state if they have received support from WMO or WCRP in the past.

If the applicant is a student, a letter of recommendation from their supervisor must be uploaded supporting their attendance.

We strongly encourage the applicant to secure a significant proportion of support from national or institutional sources, as the financial support granted by the organizing committee does not usually cover all costs of attending the meeting. As part of the application process, the applicant must email evidence of other sources of funding acquired to contact@gewexevents.org.
