International Conference on Tibetan Plateau and High Mountains Energy and Water Exchanges:
Climate Impact and Adaptation

Aug 25 - 28, 2020 | Shangri-La, Yunnan, China

***** POSTPONED *****

Due to COVID-19 the TEWEX-CLIMA2020 is postponed to the summer of 2021. Please stay tuned for future announcement.

The International Conference on Tibetan Plateau and High Mountains Energy and Water Exchange: Climate Impact and Adaptation (TEWEX-CLIMA2020) is organized by the programme “Change of the Land-Air Coupled System over the Tibetan Plateau and Its Global Climate Effect (LASTPIC)” (a ten-year flagship programme launched by the National Natural Science Foundation of China (NSFC) in 2014) with major support from the Global Energy and Water Exchanges (GEWEX) of WCRP. The co-organizers also include State KeyLaboratory of Severe Weather (LaSW) , Chinese Academy of Meteorological Science(CAMS), National Natural Science Foundation of China(NSFC), Global Energy andWater Cycle Experiment (GEWEX), National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration(NOAA), USA, Swedish Foundation for International Cooperation inResearch and Higher Education (STINT) and Yunnan University (YNU). It will consist of several invited plenary lectures with a few parallel sessions. Lectures by invited speakers will form the core of the agenda.

Theme
Improving understanding of land-air coupling over Asian Highlands for better climate prediction and better service to society.

Sessions

  1. Land-air coupling process and troposphere-stratospheric interaction;
  2. Climate/weather impact and adaptation;
  3. Changing (Asian) water tower and its impact;
  4. Observation, modeling and data assimilation.

The Conference will consist of several invited plenary lectures with a few parallel sessions.
