9th Global Energy and Water EXchanges
Open Science Conference

Jul 7 - 12, 2024 | Sapporo, Japan

Introduction

The 9th Global Energy and Water Exchanges Open Science Conference is organized under the auspices of the Global Energy and Water Exchanges (GEWEX) core project of the World Climate Research Programme together with Hokkaido University and Science Council of Japan.

The GEWEX program is dedicated to understanding Earth’s water cycle and energy fluxes at and below the surface and in the atmosphere. GEWEX is a network of scientists gathering information on the global water and energy cycles through research, observations, and science activities, which will help to predict changes in the world’s climate.

The Conference will celebrate 30+ years of GEWEX research, the strong role of the Japanese research community and set the stage for the next phase of research addressing the World Climate

The scientific program is developed under the guidance of the co-chairs of the GEWEX Scientific Steering Group, Dr. Jan Polcher and Prof. Xubin Zeng and members of the Scientific Committee.
