8th G-VAP Meeting

Jun 13 - 14, 2019 | Madrid, Spain

8th G-VAP workshop is hosted by AEMET and will take place at AEMET Heaquarters.

The need for quality assessments of Essential Climate Variables (ECVs) Climate Data Records (CDRs) is part of the GCOS guidelines for the generation of data products. The assessement process gives an overview of available data records and enables users to judge the quality and fitness for purpose of CDRs by informing them about the strengths and weaknesses of existing and readily available information. This is achieved by inter-comparison and evaluation, and, if possible, also providing the reasons behind differences and limitations. Assessments of data records related to the global energy and water cycles became an integral part of GEWEX activities over the last decades.

The overall objective of the 8th G-VAP Meeting will be to:

  • Present and discuss results from the analysis and characterisation of water vapour products (G-VAP science activities and wider community)
  • Foster cooperation, exchange and outreach
  • Discuss the next steps of G-VAP, in particular potential new activities and initiation of a special issue in a peer-reviewed journal

Please register for the G-VAP meeting by sending an email to Xavier Calbet as well as to Marc Schroeder, Helene Brogniez and Shu-Peng Ho and provide relevant information, that is, your name and affiliation. It is foreseen to have invited presentations only. Nevertheless you may submit abstracts as well. We kindly ask you to register prior to 30 May 2019.

Participants are expected to cover their own expenses to attend the meeting and agree to the following terms:
