The 28th Session of the GEWEX Scientific Steering Group (SSG) is being hosted by Professor Sonia Seneviratne at ETH Zürich in Zürich, Switzerland, from 25-28 January 2016. This session of the SSG will address both responses to advice resulting from the latest WCRP Joint Scientific Committee (JSC) meeting and developments in WCRP and global programs. We will assess progress towards new data sets and goals, and the actions required to advance the GEWEX Science Questions and synthesize water and energy cycle science across the four GEWEX Panels.
